041//365 “Swedish Non Violence”
Today I stumbled upon one of Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd’s iconic “Knotted Gun,” statues in Stockholm. The statue is of a Colt Python revolver with its barrel tied in a knot to symbolise non violence (which is also the name of the piece).
The statue is fairly well known as it also sits outside the United Nations headquarters in New York, and was put there as a gift from the Luxembourg Government. What I didn’t realise until today though was that The same work can also be seen in Stockholm, Berlin, Gothenburg, Malmö, Lund, Borås, Caen and Kirchberg!
I really hope I can see the version at the UN later this year!
